THE NOMINATION PERIOD FOR THE TASL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE IS NOW CLOSED

Candidates for the offices of President and Secretary are:

President - Steve Swift

Secretary - Sam Cohen

Candidates may address the TASL Board of Directors at 7pm at the April 9th Board meeting prior to the election. 

Executive Committee Officer Elections

Per the TASL By Laws, the election for the officers will take place during the month of April.  

A summary of the TASL By Laws that pertain to the election process are noted below.  Nominations for the open positions will open in March.  Individuals who accept their nomination will have the opportunity to address the TASL Board of Directors at the April TASL Board meeting prior to the election process.  

NOTE:  As the Officers are elected by the Division Representatives, all TASL players should provide input on their candidate of choice to their Division Representative prior to the election.

For Executive Offices:

  • The Corporation shall have an Executive Committee, which shall consist of not less than four persons, and shall always include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

  • Regular election of the Executive Committee shall be held annually during the month of April.

  • The Executive Officers are elected by the Board of Directors.

  • The offices of the President and the Secretary shall be elected in even years.

  • The offices of the Vice President and Treasurer shall be elected in odd years.

  • The duties of the President include but are not limited to: preside over all meetings of the Corporation, Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee and is eligible to serve as an ex-officio on all other committees of the Corporation.

  • The duties of the Secretary include but are not limited to: officially record all meetings of the Corporation, Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee allowing for review and acceptance at the next scheduled meeting of each, respectively; serve on the Corporation's Committee of Rules and Governance and shall oversee preparations for annual meetings.

  • The duties of the Vice President include but are not limited to: preside over meetings of the Corporation, Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee in the absence of the President and shall serve on the Corporation's committees for Discipline and Appeals as well as Personnel.

  • The duties of the Treasurer include but are not limited to:  preside over meetings of the Corporation , Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee in the absence of the President and Vice President and shall Chair the Corporation's Committee(s) on Budget and Finance.

  • No member of the Board may be elected to serve two positions on the Board of Directors (as Division Representative and/or Officer) and thus have more than one vote on the Board of Directors.

  • Each Officer shall hold office for a two year term, beginning on June 1 and ending on May 31.

  • Election results will be posted on the website once verified after the conclusion of the election.

 

 

ELECTIONS FOR TASL DIVISION REPRESENTATIVES 

After the nomination period closes, the Team Captains in each playing division will receive an email with a list of candidates for their division.  Voting is via email response to the election email.

A summary of the TASL By Laws that pertain to the Division Representative election are as follows: 

Division Representatives will be required for the following divisions of play as long as there are active teams in each division: Men's Open, Men's Overs, Women, Coed and Coed Over 30.  The number of Division Representatives will be determined by the Board of Directors  based upon the number of active teams in a division.

At least one (1) player from each active division, as determined by the Board of Directors, shall be elected as Division Representative by receiving a majority vote of the registered captains/managers (or designee) of each team in the applicable division.

  • The Division Representative MUST be registered in the TASL playing division that they would represent.
  • No member of the Board may be elected to serve two positions and thus have more than one vote on the Board of Directors.
  • Each Division Representative shall hold office for a one (1) year term, beginning on the first day of the spring season and ending on the day before the start of the spring season of the following year, or, if no replacement has been elected or appointed, as applicable, at such time, then until his or her successor shall have been elected or appointed, as applicable, and qualified.
  • Election results will be posted on the website once verified after the conclusion of the election. 
  • TASL Board members are unpaid volunteers but there is a playing credit policy.
  • The Division Representative will be elected by majority vote of the Team Captains in the playing division.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Division Representatives attend monthly TASL Board meetings and participate on at least one designated Committee. They also represent their playing division through regular communication with the Team Captains and players in their division.
